Revelstoke Grizzlies Meet North Okanagan Kings In Division Semi-Finals

The Grizzlies Cinderella Season ended in Enderby on Feb. 28th, after their best season in three years. Viveiros guided the team to a 21 - 21 record and a 3rd place finish, after only five wins last year.

The 21 wins set a franchise record along with their most lopsided win, 14 to 1 against the Golden Jr Rockets January 7th.

After being down three games to none, the Grizzlies erupted for 31 goals to tie the playoff series 3-3.

Close to 200 Revelstokians traveled to Enderby to watch what ended up being the Grizzlies final game of the year.

The Grizzlies looked as though they would get past the Kings early in the game when Brett Stava scored 1:08 into the first period, but the Kings had a 4-2 lead starting the 3rd period. Both teams traded goals in the early going before Yarocki's point shot put the Grizzlies to within one goal at 5-4.

With 4:35 to play, the Grizzlies comeback seemed within reach when Shawn Hove raced down the wing and scored to tie the game 5-5.

But with 2:46 to play, the Kings' Luc Roberge grabbed a loose puck in the Grizzlies zone to score the game winner. "It was a bitter feeling, especially losing like that", Shaun Thibert said. "We came so close to winning the series after being down 3-0, it was difficult to accept."
