Grizzlies alumnus McCallum earns NCAA III rookie nod

Rider McCallum, who played for the Revelstoke Grizzlies from 2018-2020, was honoured as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) league announced its weekly awards winners on Monday morning.

McCallum, a freshman with the Plymouth State Panthers in NCAA Division III, was selected the Men’s Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week.

McCallum collected five points to help the Panthers win a pair of MASCAC contests. He set up a pair of goals in the Panthers’ 5-3 win at Framingham State on Thursday, then added a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win at Salem State in a rematch of last year’s MASCAC championship game to finish with a +3 rating. In 10 games, McCallum has two goals and eight points. 

McCallum joined the Panthers after two seasons in the AJHL with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, where he produced 32 points in 65 regular season games and added five points in 11 playoff games. With the Grizzlies, McCallum had 47 points in 93 career regular season games, and nine in 25 playoff games.
