Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week: March 20

 

Brandon Weare and Brady Augot of the Revelstoke Grizzlies and Bryce Sookro of the Nelson Leafs have been named the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending March 20.

Augot – Top Forward – The Whitecourt, Alberta product helped the Grizzlies sweep the Osoyoos Coyotes by scoring three goals and adding an assist in four games. He scored the game-winner in Game 3 of the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference Final, giving them a 3-1 win. In 12 playoff games, Augot has four goals and two assists. During the regular season, Augot had 10 goals and 22 points in 33 games.

Sookro – Top Defenceman – The hometown product helped the Leafs even their series with the Kimberley Dynamiters at two games. Sookro has a goal and two assists in four games. He scored the game-winning goal in Game 4 and assisted on the winner in Game 3. In 12 playoff games, Sookro has four goals and 11 points.

Weare – Top Goalie – The Calgary, Alberta product earns the weekly award for a second straight week as he helped the Grizzlies sweep the Osoyoos Coyotes. In the four wins, Weare stopped 130 of 136 shots with a .956 SP and a 1.50 GAA. In the last two wins, Weare turned aside 78 of 81 shots. Weare had a save percentage of .950 or higher in three of four (.955, .975, .951) games. Weare leads all KIJHL goalies with 11 playoff wins with a .955 SP and a 1.21 GAA.
