The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League just played its second week of regular season action for the 2022-23 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide after.
|The Revelstoke Grizzlies remain the lone undefeated team in the league after their 1-0 win over the Kamloops Storm last weekend. Owen Albers earned his first career KIJHL shutout, while Carter Bettenson’s second goal of the season was the winner.|
|With a pair of wins on the weekend against 100 Mile House and Fernie, the Princeton Posse have won three of their four games. Zac Rajcic scored the winner against 100 Mile House with his first junior hockey goal, while Andrew Karam was the OT hero against Fernie with his third goal of the season.|
|Weekend wins against Chase and Beaver Valley improved the Kimberley Dynamiters to 3-1.Christian Mealey netted the shootout winner, while Justin Sommer’s first goal of the season proved the winner against Beaver Valley.|
|The Summerland Steam earned an OT win over the Osoyoos Coyotes on Sept. 27, with Cole Waldbillig netting the winner, then they lost in a 4-3 shootout to Golden on Oct. 1. Cassidy Hank scored twice in the loss. Austin Cameron leads the Steam with six points, all assists.|
|The Nelson Leafs split their games on the week, defeating Creston Valley, then were shutout by Grand Forks. Dylan Mowery’s first of the season was the winner. Frederick Larochelle made 13 saves in a 3-0 loss to Grand Forks.|
